AJR #26
This is the car that started it all. Alex built this in his 2 car garage back in 1990. She was the first of the 10 Sebring wins for Alex Job Racing back in 1995. The poor old girl hasn't been out in the light of day in many years. It's time to change that and bring her back to life!
# 26 AJR (Alex Job Racing) Tube Chassis Porsche 911 Race Car
Tube chassis built by Fabcar in early 1990. The rest of the race car was built during 1990 by AJR in Alex’s home garage.
AJR’s unibody Porsche 911 race car was crashed and destroyed during the 1990 SEBRING 12 hour race. After this Alex decided to build a new tube chassis race car using as many surviving parts from the unibody race car.
The race car was configured in a slope nose front, whale tail wing, and modified front fender tire venting system. The IMSA rules at that time allowed some considerable 911 body modifications. The rain gutters were removed, the doors were fixed to the body due to the tube chassis configuration. The driver had to climb through the side window area, much like a Nascar vehicle. The interior of the race car was also greatly modified with a bulkhead panel behind the driver, allowing the transmission and engine area to be one. The engine displacement was 3.2 liter and the transmission was a turbo 930 4 speed. Fuel injection was a Bosch mechanical pump system.
The completed race car debuted at the 1991 DAYTONA 24 hour race. After an early accident the repaired race car went on to finish 4th in class. The drivers for this race were Alex Job, Chris Kraft, Joe Pezza, Jack Refenning.
The next race was the SEBRING 12 hour race where the car finished 2nd in class. The drivers for this race were Alex Job, Chris Craft, Jack Refenning.

For the 1993 IMSA season AJR modified the race car to a 935 (Moby Dick style) body configuration. The rear of the race car design proved to be a challenge since the IMSA GTU rules required the tail lights to stay in the original 911 locations. The style of the rear of the car was not too eye appealing but it did work well aero wise. This new body configuration was produced by the AJR Team. By mid season the injection was converted to a Motec electronic system. Engine displacement stayed at 3.2 liter.

For the 1995 IMSA Season the Series changed the rules in a big way. The GTU class race car was now called GTS2. The body configuration now needed to look like a road car. The new for 1995 Porsche 911 road car was the 993. AJR completely rebodied the race car in the 993 configuration. AJR was the first Porsche race car to rebody in the 993 configuration. AJR entered into a major 3.6 liter engine development program. The 3.6 liter engine proved to be as competitive as the Porsche 3.8 liter engine. The 1995 IMSA Season would prove to be AJR’s strongest season to date.
